I landed in Los Angeles this morning at about 9am…had a great chat with a professional guy who sells Organic foods for a living…yet another disgruntled employee.  The perfect prospect at my fingertips.  Did I get his card you might ask?  Of course.  This business is always about networking. 

I’m here to spend the next 24 days attending three straight weeks of seminars with The Christopher Howard Companies (http://www.chrishoward.com).  I’m finalizing my studies on Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) and Ericksonian Hypnosis, as well as Quantum Linguistics and Neurological Repatterning.  A LOT of BIG words!  This is very fascinating stuff for those of you who want to enjoy the benefits of being a Master of your trade.  Should be quite an interesting journey. 

 My good friend Beth was kind enough to put me up at her home for the month so I didn’t have to live out of a suitcase in a hotel.   She  runs a company called Process Prodigy (http://www.ProcessProdigy.com.  Her company focuses on helping people systematize and streamline their businesses so they work less and make more.  She’s good at what she does!   Check her out if you’re into that concept.   Work less…make more.  Sounds good to me. 

 I chilled in Venice this afternoon, people watched, walked the beach, bought some incense, and enjoyed the California sunshine.   Then, hopped in my convertible mustang…conveniently rented to me by Hertz.  I haven’t seen any O.J. commercials lately, have you? 

Then, I flew back to Beth’s and hosted a Conference Call for Peak Impact Media.  They have a very good reputation for generating good quality leads and creating systems for companies.  You can check out their MLM Leads at http://www.MLMLeadStore.com if you are so inclined. 

 After that, I happened over to my buddy Corey Citron’s pad in Venice and hung for a bit.  If you don’t know who Corey is, he has a very big group in XanGo and runs http://DiscoverMangosteen.com, a site his team uses for building their business. 

 I’ve had a lot of leaders call me about systems recently.  It isn’t unusual at all for top MLM Distributors or Network Marketing Companies themselves hiring top notch programmers who understand network marketing to build online marketing systems that their distributors can use to promote their program. 

 I’ve had a lot of calls lately from top reps seeking information about companies that build such systems. 

 If you are a very large distributor with a sizable organization or a Network Marketing Company owner reading this, here are a few companies that I am award of that do a fantastic job in this arena.

SEO: How MLM Pros Generate Massive Traffic

I get the feeling that some people think that if they purchase a replicated web site from their company, hot leads and prospects will simply fall out of the internet sky and land in their email in-box. Sadly, it doesn’t work that way.

I want to give you some tips that Network Marketing professionals use to drive traffic to their web site. Many MLM pros use Google Adwords to drive paid traffic but we are going to talk about organic search engine traffic produced with Search Engine Optimization or SEO. The great thing about organic traffic is that it’s free. Of course there are no guarantees that the traffic will show up every day, but if you produce keyword rich content that is updated on a regular basis, you have a chance to land yourself on the search engines.

First, think about the purpose of your site. So many Network Marketers and even Network Marketing companies miss this next point. If you are in business to make a profit, than a web site should produce results.

There are three main reasons to have a web site as a Network Marketer:

1. Sell something now.

2. Sign someone up now.

3. Gather a name, phone number and email address so that you can contact the person and do 1 and/or 2 at a later time.

You need to ask yourself (and your company might need to ask themselves), “does a fancy flash movie help you sell more products and sponsor more people?” Maybe they do, but if I were in charge of an MLM web site initiative, all of my efforts would be put into creating sales through customers and new associates.

Now that we are on the same page about MLM web sites, let’s talk about the Search Engine Optimization. Today’s top marketers pick out important and relevant keywords and phrases related to the industry, company and individual then they pepper the content of the site with these keywords and phrases. Keep in mind, it’s not about producing a list of keywords and placing them at the bottom of one of your pages (anymore). This is about producing relevant content about your keywords. Content can be articles about the industry or other information about you, your company or the company products.

Social Networking Site Second Life and MLM

Second Life is a 3-D virtual world that currently has over 6.5 million users and over 20,000 new users joining each day. Big companies life IBM, Dell, Apple and Lacoste are putting time and resources into creating a presence on Second Life.

I have read estimates that suggest a 4 to 5 hour learning curve in order to get your bearings in the Second Life world, but after that you have 6 million users that might be open to hearing about your business.

Keep in mind that, like your first life, pitching and presenting your business to someone before you build a relationship is not suggested.

Amway UK - Amivo Sanctions It’s IBOs

Based on a number of reports and a confirmation by the Amway Media Blog, it looks like times are changing for those involved with the Amway business in the UK.

MLM Blog posts the following letter:

May 4, 2007

To: UK/ROI IBO Leader
From: Ben Woodward, Branch Manager, Amway UK

RE: Significant change to Amway’s mode of operations in UK/Republic of Ireland.

This letter is to inform you of significant changes to the way Amway will conduct its business in the UK and Republic of Ireland. These changes are effective immediately. While these changes may cause short-term challenges for some of our IBOs, we strongly believe the changes will make our long-term business in the UK/RoI stronger.

Effective Immediately: 4 May 07.
Amway will prohibit the production, sale or promotion of BSM that are not authorized and distributed by Amway; this includes websites. This includes any BSM (books, tapes, meetings, CD’s, websites) that have been already been approved by Amway UK/RoI. They are now considered unauthorized for use.

All meetings for which an entry fee is charged are suspended until Amway has approved, in writing, the meeting and its content;

Amway has imposed a moratorium on sponsoring new IBOs for at least 60 days and until current IBOs are re-trained and re-qualified; We are evaluating all costs associated with joining Amway;

We are also sanctioning a number of IBOs based on contract violations that have come to our attention.

Failure to comply with the above mentioned points 1 to 3 will lead to a suspension and/or termination of the respective IBO contract. Please also note that Amway is in no way limited to these sanctions, but can impose further corrective or punitive measures.

In addition, the company is announcing a thorough review of its business practices globally with the goal of ensuring a consistent, rigorously enforced set of rules and regulations governs its relationships with IBOs and consumers.

That global audit has begun, and we expect it to be completed in June, and will share the results with you later this summer.

I was talking with my Marketing Director Ty this morning about Blogging. He said to me, “You’ve got to be consistent if you expect your blog to produce results, just like you have to be consistent in your prospecting in network marketing.”

Funny thing…I missed two days of blogging already this week. Even successful people have to force themselves (that is…if ‘force’ is the proper term) to stay on top of things.

Discipline is a the primary element that leads to consistency in anything we do. Whether you are looking to get healthy, build a bigger check, become and expert in something you love to do, or having a healthy marriage, you have to have the DISCIPLINE to do the necessary things to make those situations work out for you.

Remember: Discipline weighs ounces while regret weighs tons.
