Degrading the Youth of America

Author Todd Falcone | 28.08.2008 | Category Rants

I’ve been wanting to vent on this subject for a while, and I simply need to get it off of my chest.

What’s with all the companies these days who hire kids to hold signs with handles on the back (some that spin), urging people to go to their business?

I see real estate companies, pizza joints, tanning salons, and others who hire teenagers to stand on the corner waving these signs around?

This chaps my hide in two ways.

1. These businesses are degrading our youth. It takes no effort, no brains, NOTHING to hold a sign. These mostly young people are being paid for doing nothing. Yes…I get the reason for doing it, but it makes my stomach churn. Why not teach these kids to do something PRODUCTIVE? Give them a challenge. Provide them an opportunity to learn and grow, not just stand on the corner and distract drivers.

2. It lowers the business’ image. For me at least, I’m not likely to give business to someone who is so lazy or poor in their marketing efforts that they need to pay a kid to wave a sign. In fact, it makes me want to talk about that business in a negative manner. I probably won’t make the effort to do it, but the urge is there.

I don’t have much else to say other than it’s simply irritating. Yes..it could be me, but I am entitled to my opinion.

If you know any business owners who personally do this, perhaps give them some advice and let them know that there is a better way to utilize their marketing dollar, one that LIFTS their image rather than reduces it.

A Tribute to Bernie Mac.

My friend Kim Beckley found this tribute to Bernie and sent it over to me.

The world of comedy has lost a legend. Laughter is truly the best medicine…and Bernie has given me plenty of it.

If you are a comedy fan, a Bernie Mac fan…or just a human being, this is well worth watching. Sad…but also gleaming with laughter. Bernie would have loved it.

We miss you Bernie!

Schemes, Scams, Gifting Programs and Money Games…

Author Todd Falcone | 07.08.2008 | Category Fearless Prospecting

I am a HUGE proponent of capitalism in America.  I LOVE network marketing and direct selling.

But…what’s with all the crap out there?

Seriously…I cannot believe the kind of shit that is promoted out there as a ‘legitimate’ way of making ‘long-term’ money.

I get calls every week from people who offer to ’slide me in’ to a position.  Kinda sounds like either baseball or porn to me.  “Why don’t you just ’secure’ a position Todd?”  Or…”Todd, you might as well just ‘take a spot’ and see what happens.”

Look…I’m all about business.  But, NOT business that rapes and pillages people for their money.  Legitimate business takes time to build.

When I hear names like “Cash Gifting Machine”or “The Mega Cash Generator”,  I seriously want to puke.

Most of my readers have one thing in mind…to make a nice life for themselves and their families and to get out of the drudgery of working for someone else.

WARNING:  This is a PERSONAL warning.  If you are one of those ‘chasers’ who are playing these little money games trying to convince yourself that they are legit, I guarantee you that you will fail.  You will get SCREWED.  Or worse, you’ll bring a friend in, have them lay down their $2000 or whatever it costs, and they’ll be screwed.  Not a good way to keep your friends.

My advice to you.  Pick a good company with a real product and put your head down.  Put your blinders on and bust your ass.  There is no ‘easy’ way to create wealth.  If there was, everybody would be doing it.

Look out for companies that have to say 100% legal in their advertisements.  Why would you even have to say that?  100% real.  O.k.

100% chance of getting shut down and left in the cold is what I have to say.

Simple.  Be smart.  Do your homework.  Ask some REAL experts.  Get the facts.  Don’t be blinded by your own desire to create change.  You need to have clear vision.

There are tons of great opportunities out there.

Thanks for letting me vent…
